About Llandudno Blinds: Measured on the Hillside, Made for It

Llandudno Blinds is a made-to-measure shading service for houses in this valley and along the coast beside it. Nothing comes in a standard size, and the hardware is specified for the position rather than for a catalogue, because a west-facing pane above the swell asks far more of a bracket than the same window on a sheltered street.

A valley with no streetlights and a wall of glass facing west

Llandudno is a small, entirely residential granite bowl on the Atlantic side of the Peninsula, below Little Lion's Head, with no shops and no municipal street lighting, a long-held community choice that keeps the valley properly dark after sunset and fills the beach every evening to watch the sun go down behind the boulders. Most homes are terraced up the hillside facing that same sunset, so the glass that draws people here takes the full brunt of the afternoon. Salt spray reaches front-facing homes straight off the swell, and the bowl channels the summer south-easter onto exposed decks.

The range covers every elevation the slope produces: roller, day and night, venetian, cellular, vertical and panel, concealed and skylight blinds inside the glass, and on the seaward side the premium external answers, external venetians, roller shutters and zip screens, with folding-arm awnings and motorisation throughout. Everything is manufactured to figures taken off your own openings.

Llandudno and the Atlantic seaboard either side

Based in the valley itself, working right along the coast on both sides of it. Camps Bay, one ridge north over the saddle, where contemporary villas are built almost entirely of glass toward the Twelve Apostles. Clifton, one bay along, stacked onto the cliff above four boulder-divided beaches and reached by steps. Bantry Bay, further up the corridor, built directly onto granite rock frontage with the ocean starting where the garden ends. And Hout Bay, over the pass to the south, a harbour town ringed by mountains where damp, shade and older beach cottages set a different brief from an exposed west-facing cove.

From enquiry to fitted, in four honest steps

An enquiry arrives by chat or form: the rooms, the product interest, and how exposed the glass is to sun, wind or spray. One of our expert consultants will contact you shortly to set a date for the free in-home measure. At that visit each opening is measured precisely, exposure and fixing substrate are assessed against your position on the hillside, and fabric, openness and control are matched to the sun and the wind that window really takes, with physical samples rather than a screen. No online measuring tools, no guesswork.

The quote that follows is written down and broken out option by option, window by window, and because everything is made to order it confirms the lead time for your specific job rather than a generic estimate. Approve it and everything is manufactured to those measurements, hung by a proper installer, checked level, tested and demonstrated before the van leaves. There is no charge for the visit and no obligation whether you order or not.

What we will say plainly

If the answer for a particular window is that you do not need us for that, we would rather say so at the measure. Our roller shutters do a shading job: sun, heat and glare held off outside the glass. A security rating is not part of it; that is its own product, quoted on request, and nothing on this site should be read as a security claim. Every outdoor shading product has a wind speed past which it must be retracted, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling; the right question is what happens automatically when that limit is reached. And marine-spec fittings still want a fresh-water rinse after a storm this close to the break.

We will not quote a figure down the phone, because a bracket on a boulder-front window and the same bracket three bands up are not the same job. Where a roller is the wrong product for an opening, hot rather than bright, too wide, raked, or a wet room facing the spray, you will get a straight answer and a different product instead.

Bring us the hour that ruins the room

Tell us through the enquiry form or the chat on this site which band you are in, the clock time the room becomes unusable, and whether it is glare, heat or privacy. One of our expert consultants will contact you shortly to arrange your free in-home measure. The details you share are used only to arrange that consultation call-back, are never shared beyond it, and are processed under POPIA.
